Paul Harrison

As EVP at the civic tech startup Democracy.com, Paul transformed strategy, investor recruitment and customer partnerships. He also led the strategic implementation of a leveraged sunset strategy at blue moon fund, driving the creation of seven independent organizations including a social enterprise investment vehicle. Paul led Environmental Defense Fund’s Mississippi River Delta restoration and Colorado River campaigns, and also built a multi-organization team that secured passage of the federal RESTORE Act in the wake of the Deepwater Horizon disaster. Paul served as a trial attorney in the USDOJ’s Environment and Natural Resources Division, as well as Campaign Coordinator at Transportation Alternatives. Paul earned his law degree from Fordham Law School, and a B.A. in Public Policy from the College of William and Mary.

Matt McFarlane

Matt is a social entrepreneur and intellectual property and trial attorney with a background in neuroscience research and biotechnology. He co-founded GROUT to define and coordinate new and unique social impact projects by combining resources and expertise across disciplines through communication, cooperation and collaboration. Matt earned his law degree from Fordham Law School, a PhD in Molecular & Cellular Physiology from Stanford University School of Medicine and a ScB in Biochemistry from Brown University. He has served as a Trustee and Director of several non-profits, is a founding partner at Matadero Capital, and is an Advisor to the Cavendish Impact Foundation.

Erin Fairbanks

Erin is a hospitality expert and partnership strategist focused on new business development and community building. Erin is co-founder of GROUT Consulting, a social impact firm based in Brooklyn, NY. She is also a co-founder of Women in Hospitality United, a non-profit organization dedicated to reimagining the hospitality industry. Previously, Erin served as the first Executive Director of Heritage Radio Network. Erin sits on the advisory councils for Glynwood and the Julia Child Foundation, and is the Junior Board Chair for the Food Education Fund. She has an M.S. in Urban Planning and Policy Analysis from The New School, B.A. from the University of Michigan.

As a CEO, COO and CFO at several successful Silicon Valley companies in the ecommerce, data, and social media industries end through his role as an investing and operating partner at Carbyne Capital Partners, Eric has 25 years of experience leading early and mid-stage companies including mFirst Security Ltd., (mobile application security), Forgge (Uber-style 3D printing), Buildfax (world leader in property history data), Reframe It (social network tech), and Sitoa Corp (e-commerce). He restructured and ran the operations of one of the largest Habitat for Humanity affiliates. Eric began his career at PWC's financial advisory group and the Department of Commerce's International Trade Administration. M.B.A. in finance and strategy from Yale, B.A. in Economics and International Studies from American University.

Audrey Logan

Audrey is a project manager and marketing strategist with a passion for social entrepreneurship. Thriving at the nexus of creativity and logistics, Audrey worked as Associate Producer on The Hunting Ground documentary, designed and managed digital campaigns for nonprofit clients at Craft & Commerce and helped launch Culture of Respect, a NASPA initiative to end campus sexual violence. Audrey also co-founded The New Regulars, a hyperlocal film and event series highlighting creativity, community and leadership in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Audrey earned a B.A. in Psychology from Occidental College.

NEZ Ozmen Harrison

Nez is a seasoned proposal management leader with two decades of diversified and innovative experience in information technology, environmental policy, and international development. Focused on delivering results – from planning to production – she provides competitive management consulting services across sectors including defense, aerospace, transportation, healthcare, biotech, insurance, and banking. Recently she led the development of IBM’s response to the DOD JEDI (Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure) RFP worth $10 billion, the largest stand-alone technology contract award by the federal government. Her skills include proposal management and coordination, training, writing and editing, data management, transition management, compliance/quality assurance, new business development and international project management. Nez has a Master’s degree in Environmental Policy and Management from Yale and a BA in Economics-Math from Sweet Briar College.

Laura is an experienced graphic artist who knows form follows function to create great, well-executed design and help her clients realize their brand messaging goals across media. A member of the D.C. Chapter of AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts) for over two decades, Laura most recently served as the Graphic Arts Director for Warfield & Walsh, a message-driven boutique fundraising agency whose clients included presidential centers, historical foundations, political organizations, Olympics-bound teams and other nonprofit causes. Laura earned her B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies – Design, Communication & Marketing from American University.
