Paul Harrison

Co-Founder, CEO

As EVP at the civic tech startup, Paul transformed strategy, investor recruitment and customer partnerships. He also led the strategic implementation of a leveraged sunset strategy at blue moon fund, driving the creation of seven independent organizations including a social enterprise investment vehicle. Paul led Environmental Defense Fund’s Mississippi River Delta restoration and Colorado River campaigns, and also built a multi-organization team that secured passage of the federal RESTORE Act. Paul served as a trial attorney in the USDOJ’s Environment and Natural Resources Division, as well as Campaign Coordinator at Transportation Alternatives. Paul earned his law degree from Fordham Law School, and a B.A. in Public Policy from the College of William and Mary.


Matt McFarlane

Co-Founder, CPO

Matt is a social entrepreneur and intellectual property and trial attorney with a background in neuroscience research and biotechnology. He co-founded GROUT to define and coordinate unique social impact projects by combining resources and expertise across disciplines through communication, cooperation and collaboration. Matt earned his law degree from Fordham Law School, a PhD in Molecular & Cellular Physiology from Stanford University School of Medicine and a ScB in Biochemistry from Brown University. He has served as a Trustee and Director of several non-profits, is a founding partner at Matadero Capital, and is an Advisor to the Cavendish Impact Foundation.


Erin Fairbanks

Co-Founder, COO

Erin is a convener and strategist who gets geeky about learning, launching new projects, and building community. She is a co-founder of GROUT. She recently co-founded Women in Hospitality United, supporting female leadership, ideas, and voices in the hospitality space. Erin was the first Executive Director of Heritage Radio Network, the world’s pioneer food radio station. Erin sits on the advisory councils for Glynwood and the Julia Child Foundation, and is the Junior Board Chair for the Food Education Fund. Erin earned an M.S. in Urban Policy Analysis and Management from The New School and a B.A. in Creative Writing and Literature from the University of Michigan.
